JFS Wealth Advisors was voted Best of the Best in the 2010 Herald Readers' Choice Awards. The JFS team would like to thank all of The Herald readers who nominated and voted for us as the Best of the Best Financial Consultant.
The Herald newspaper annually asks its readers to nominate businesses in various categories that they believe to be the best of the best. From the nominations, readers had the opportunity to vote on which businesses they thought were best of the best. Nomination ballots appeared in The Herald in late February. Janelle Fumerola presented "Budgeting for Success & Steps for Financial Success" for the United Way of Mercer County's women's leadership series, Keys to Success. Janelle's presentation was part of a seven part series developed by the United Way as part of its commitment to education.

For the fourth year, advisors from JFS presented financial topics to Mercer High School students for their Families Today Living Today class. The materials are from the NEFE (National Endowment for Financial Education) program. Mark Johnston presented investments; Deb Stiger presented budgeting; and Gary Dalessandro presented debt.

This year the JFS employees have gotten into the holiday spirit and are participating in the Salvation Army's Adopt-a-Family-Program. It's a program that helps families have a joyous holiday when otherwise they may not.Aside from the gifts, the family was also provided with several boxes of food staples. Employees were very generous.
While many families receive help at this time from the Salvation Army, the families for this program are hand-picked to participate in the program.
The committee of JFS "elves" were Stephanie Rossi, Laura Blaire, Janelle Fumerola and Amanda Smith.
Tony Burt obtained the Certified Investment Management Analystsm designation. Awarded by Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), the CIMA® certification is the only advanced designation specifically for investment consultants. Buhl Day 2009
Each year residents of the Shenango Valley gather at Buhl Farm Park to celebrate Frank and Julia Buhl's most unselfish gift to the people of the Shenango Valley. In 1915, the Buhl's donated 350 acres to fulfill Mr. Buhl's vision of a privately supported park open to the public to provide families with the peacefulness of the country and a healthful setting for recreation. Each year, the Buhl Day organizing committee chooses three individuals who make a difference to our community. This year Bob Jazwinski was chosen.

Financial Advisor magazine released its fourth annual ranking of independent financial advisory firms. JFS was ranked 82nd and has earned a spot in all four surveys. Firms were ranked by total assets under management for 2008. To be eligible, firms must be registered independent advisors, offer financial planning services, and have predominately individual clients. Participation is free and voluntary.

Our own Chief Compliance Office, Laura Blaire, attended a compliance conference in March in the beautiful city of New Orleans. One of the days, conference attendees spent the day doing some clean up helping the City of New Orleans in its continuing recovery from Hurricane Katrina.
